David Samson: Stadium Renovations Are Not A Real Engine

Monday afternoon saw a big announcement from Tepper Sports & Entertainment. They revealed the proposed plans and renderings of what Bank of America Stadium could look like with renovations if passed by the Charlotte City Council. Former President of the Marlins David Samson joined Kyle Bailey to break down all the factors at play in such a massive decision for the future of the Queen City.

One of the biggest things that David pointed out earlier that Charlotte City Council needs to look at as he pointed to completion certainty because the last thing you want is for renovations to start. They don’t get financed or finished as well as the flow of funds with what money is coming in and where the money is coming from. David said another concern is a potential overrun that never gets mentioned at this point on a project of this magnitude.

David would continue to break down the potential renovation from the idea of this being an economic engine, to the proposed 15-year tether between the 2 parties.
