Charlotte has embraced its wellness era . We've rounded up some of the best local spas and massage studios to enjoy a self-care day.

The vibe: A Dilworth day spa specializing in customizable facials, massages and hair removal services with a boutique section to shop sustainable beauty products.
What to try: Toccare's signature Radiance Facial ($125 -$195) uses organic and natural products to treat the skin. You can add enhancements like dermaplaning and oxygen dome therapy for an additional cost.

The vibe: A family-owned spa located between Ballantyne and SouthPark offering a range of skincare services, plus massage therapy and seasonal treatments.
What to try: The spa has a list of "Top 10 Picks," the most requested services by clients over the years. Their most popular is the "Nature's Ultimate Spa Package," a full-body lymphatic dry brushing, cleansing massage and exfoliation, lavender sea salt body bath, full-body massage and revitalizing scalp treatment paired with a glass of wine, chocolate, and a cheese/fruit plate (3 hours, $475).

The vibe: A full-service luxury spa chain offering a range of treatments — from massage therapy to manicures — at its recently opened SouthPark studio.
What to expect: Woodhouse has a full list of signature facials, massages and manicures, plus restorative services like an infrared sauna and salt therapy.
- The signature sculpt facial, for example, combines a facial massage, microcurrent technology and the Gua Sha technique to lift and tone the skin (80 minutes, $220).

The vibe: An upscale SouthPark spa whose owner, Toska Husted, is known for her celebrity clientele including the Kardashian family, Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez.
What to expect: You'll start with a consultation in the Biologique Recherche Skin Instant Lab, which allows the esthetician to create a custom skincare treatment.
What to try: The hour-long "Remodeling Deep Cleanse Treatment" focuses on the face and neck area. Husted offers this to celebrity clients before red-carpet events to lift and tone the skin while killing bacteria ($375).

The vibe: A luxury spa inside The Ballantyne Hotel just outside the newly opened mixed-use development, The Bowl. If you're looking for a more traditional spa experience or a staycation, this is it.
What to expect: Massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and even hair salon services.
If you go: You'll also get access to the spa's pool, fitness area, steam room and sauna.

The vibe: A modern massage spa in Dilworth offering 50- and 80-minute signature massages, infrared sauna sessions and occasional meditation classes.
If you go: Mood House offers several membership options, like "The Ritual" which includes one 50-minute massage for $92/month or "The Oasis," one 50-minute massage and three infrared sauna sessions for $152/month.

The vibe: Situated south of Charlotte in Wesley Chapel, Novella combines the feel of an upscale spa with the functionality and services of a medspa.
What to expect: A range of aesthetic treatments, like facials meant to create the sought-after glass skin look , injectables (including Botox and fillers), weight loss treatments and red light therapy.

What we're watching: Squeeze Massage (coming soon)
What's happening: The founders of Drybar have launched an app-based massage experience called Squeeze.
What's next: The massage chain has over 30 locations nationwide with a Charlotte studio slated to open Aug. 2 in the Park Road Shopping Center.
How it works: Squeeze was designed to "modernize the massage experience," according to its website. You'll book, pay and tip all on the app for a quicker experience.
- Squeeze aims to be more affordable than typical high-end spas, with services starting at $109.
