Charlotte man sentenced to over 4 decades on child sex crime charges

A Charlotte man will spend more than 4 decades in prison on child sex crime charges. 36 year old, Phillip Christopher Weise was given the maximum sentence for several counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Court records say a 2021 search of Weise's home uncovered electronic devices that had explicit images of children. He also asked children to send him explicit images of themselves. He also encouraged children to involve animals and children in the videos.

Investigators say Weise primarily targeted kids between the ages of 4 and 12 years old. Over a half of dozen victims have been identified. Weise pleaded guilty to producing child pornography, extortion and sending obscene material to minors. He has been sentenced to 42 years in prison
