Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Brian Burns.

Two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Brian Burns was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the New York Giants on March 13.

Thanks to the camera crew for "Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants," fans are getting an inside look at the initial conversation regarding the trade between Panthers general manager Dan Morgan and Giants general manager Joe Schoen.

A clip of the interaction was posted on X on Tuesday afternoon and shows that Morgan first informally offered Burns to Schoen on Feb. 3.

The program will debut at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday on Max.

Carolina placed the franchise tag on Burns on March 5 but eventually sent him and the San Francisco 49ers' 2024 fifth-round pick to Big Blue on March 13 for a second and a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Afterward, New York signed the 26-year-old to a five-year, $141M contract (including $87.5M guaranteed).

Burns had career highs in sacks (12.5), quarterback hits (22) and tackles for loss (17) in 2022 before his numbers dipped slightly in 2023. He finished last season with 18 quarterback hits, 16 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks across 16 games.
