Knowledge Perk To Expand to Charlotte with Latta Arcade Location

Knowledge Perk , a coffee company known for its dedication to coffee craftsmanship and community engagement, is set to open a new location at The Alley at Latta Arcade , located at 320 S Tryon St.

This expansion marks one of several new food and beverage concepts debuting at Latta Arcade this year, as part of the center’s extensive redevelopment.

Latta Arcade, a century-old art deco building, stands as a rare relic of early 20th-century commercial architecture in Uptown Charlotte. Developed by Edward Latta in 1914 to house his construction company’s offices and a shopping arcade, the building originally featured six storefronts along South Tryon Street and sixteen more extending to the rear. The current redevelopment aims to build upon this storied tradition of commerce and community.

Knowledge Perk is recognized for its zeal for coffee and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of coffee knowledge and craft. The company creates engaging and immersive customer experiences through lively coffee-oriented conversations, pop-up demonstrations, and tasting events. Customers, both individuals and organizations, can even book events to create custom blends unique to them.

The company’s mission extends beyond coffee innovation to positively impact local communities. Knowledge Perk’s cafés serve as hubs for civic and community groups, non-profits, church groups, book clubs, artists, student study groups, professional networks, and friendly gatherings. They also host fundraising events, weddings, and other private occasions.

Knowledge Perk’s founders envisioned a company that benefits local communities and fosters global partnerships, aiming to create a better world through compassion, integrity, respect, knowledge, and innovation. Despite some viewing this vision as naïve, Knowledge Perk remains committed to fostering civil society and fighting alienation, isolation, bigotry, and hatred, according to its website.

CEO and Co-Founder Ryan Sanderson on Friday told What Now Charlotte Knowledge Perk is aiming for a September 2024 debut. “There are a lot of moving parts, but for sure before the holiday season gets into full swing,” Sanderson said.
