CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Starting July 15, a portion of the Rail Trail, between Tremont and Remount, will be temporarily closed due to nearby construction, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) says.

Signs will be placed to guide users away from the construction.

The Rail Trail will reopen on July 18, except for a small portion along a development on Hawkins Street. This part of the closure is expected to last through the summer.

CATS says a private developer is making improvements to the Rail Trail including ballast curb, fencing, landscaping and bike racks.
