Three people in a stolen SUV were arrested following a chase by law enforcement starting in York County, S.C., and ending in Charlotte Monday morning.

Observer news partner WSOC reported deputies from York County chased a vehicle on Interstate 77 as its driver drove erratically across the North Carolina line on Interstate 77.

The vehicle got off onto Arrowood Road in Charlotte, WSOC reported , and then got onto Nations Ford Road before getting onto I-77 North. The York County deputies dropped back near Woodlawn Road, the news report said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department spokesperson Michael Allinger said Tuesday that the department assisted with monitoring the stolen vehicle from a helicopter and making arrests, but never pursued the vehicle.

The car stopped by Bojangles Coliseum where the driver, and two passengers got out and ran into the parking lot of the Park Expo Center, WSOC reported. The three were arrested, and are all under 18, WSOC reported.

Brian Vaughan, assistant chief of the Huntersville Police Department, said on Tuesday the vehicle was stolen from Huntersville in the early morning hours of July 13 and 14 near the 10300 block of Wilmington Street.
