It isn't a secret that the Carolina Panthers' pass rush wasn't close to elite.

During the offseason, the Panthers traded away Brian Burns and saw linebacker Frankie Luvu and Yetur Gross-Matos leave. One player brought in to replace them was K'Lavon Chaisson, a former first-round pick who hasn't lived up to his talent. Despite his struggles, his confidence isn't deterred.

Chaisson spoke with KPRC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson , and the 24-year-old went as far as to say he has exactly what it takes to be among the elite linebackers in the league.

“They’re getting a complete player and they’re getting a winner,” Chaisson said. “That’s the most important thing is the W column. I got used to winning in high school and college. It’s a mindset and acknowledgment of the grind it takes to reach a certain level and make a certain impact. It’s about competition.

“They’re getting someone who is truly loyal and respects the game, a true rarity. All in all, they’re getting a complete player, a complete person, and a human that comes with it. I feel like I have every tool it takes to be a great player."

Chaisson was selected at No. 20 in the 2020 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a move that didn't produce immediate results.

In the 2023 season, Chaisson amassed nine solo tackles and two sacks, pedestrian numbers for what his talent suggests he can do. In Charlotte, he will try to rewrite his story.
