    Charlotte has a variety of options for those seeking to keep a halal diet, or for those who are simply interested in dining on halal food every once in a while.

    Halal food, or food specially prepared for Muslims to consume under Islamic law, spans a broad range of cuisines.

    From kebabs over rice and gyro combos, to Asian, Indian and even fried chicken halal meals, Charlotte has something for everyone when it comes to finding the best halal food. Check out these 15 restaurants that all offer full halal menus or halal dishes in the Charlotte area.

    Cedar Land Halal Foods

    Location: 4832 Central Ave C, Charlotte, NC 28205

    Tucked away inside a specialty grocery store in East Charlotte, you’ll find Cedar Land Halal Foods. Shop for certified halal food inside the grocery store, then make your way back to the restaurant that offers takeout, delivery and even a few tables to dine-in on Middle Eastern cuisine.

    Cedar Land is open for all three meals a day and serves halal appetizers, soups, salads, customizable bowls, plates and vegetable combos. You can even find homemade pastries and desserts to finish your meal with something sweet.

    Charlotte Halal Guys

    Location: Varies

    Charlotte Halal Guys is a food truck that travels to events and various locations around the Charlotte area. On the menu, you’ll find halal foods such as chicken, lamb and falafel over rice, as well as a variety of gyros and wraps. For a more indulgent meal, add the truck’s cheesy fries as a side.

    Halal Eats

    Halal Eats brings the culinary flavors of Uzbek and Tajik cuisines to Charlotte. The menu offers beef, lamb and chicken dishes such as a layered tandoor samsa – tender chunks of beef marinated in aromatic spices and cooked in a traditional tandoor oven – and lamb plov, which is savory lamb cooked with aromatic spices and tender rice.

    In addition to the main courses you can also order appetizers such as dumplings, salads and sides such as bagels.

    Halal Food Cart

    Halal Food Cart is a food truck that’s always parked at the same location in uptown Charlotte, so you always know where to find your halal food fix.

    You can order dishes such as chicken and lamb over rice, falafel on pita and lamb salad in-person at the cart, or online through a variety of food service apps.

    Halal Guys (coming soon)

    The popular halal food chain Halal Guys will be soon opening a location in South End Charlotte at the new Platform development.

    With dozens of locations throughout the country, it’s safe to say the Halal Guys are a fan favorite. Dishes include mains such as platters and gyros, sides such as baba ganoush and hummus and desserts such as baklava and chocolate chip cookies.

    Halal GyroMan

    Location: 130 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202

    Another stationary food truck, Halal GyroMan, is providing halal food pretty much all day every day, opening up at 9 a.m. and not closing until 4 a.m. each night.

    Every menu item is made with 100% halal meat and all natural ingredients. Choose your favorite among a menu including chicken and lamb over rice, barbecue chicken tikka over rice, seafood such as tilapia and shrimp over rice, and fried items such as onion rings, mozzarella sticks, wings and burgers.

    Halal Kitchen INK

    Location: 11320 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28262

    Serving halal food out of a food truck, Halal Kitchen INK accepts online orders but also sets up a small outdoor dining area for customers who prefer to order and eat in person.

    The small but tasty menu features a hummus bowl, chicken over rice, lamb over rice, chicken shawarma over hummus, three sandwiches and chicken salad.

    Halal Street Food
