    Woman found dead in south Charlotte home ID’d, missing BMW located: CMPD

    CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A woman who was reported missing has been found dead this week inside a south Charlotte home and her missing BMW has been located and is being processed, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police confirmed.

    The case was declared a homicide after Whitney Elizabeth Hurd, 32, of Charlotte, was found dead at a home in south Charlotte on Sunday.

    Hurd was reported missing to CMPD by her family on Thursday, July 11. Authorities said her body was discovered at the home Sunday along Werburgh Street.

    On Tuesday, CMPD said they responded to the area shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in reference to a death investigation. The next day, the case was ruled a homicide after consulting with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office.

    Detectives located her missing BMW and are processing the vehicle after initially asking for the public’s help in locating it on Wednesday, CMPD said Thursday.
