    NCDMV Offices Closed Due To CrowdStrike Distruption

    DMV offices in North Carolina are closed today (July 19) due to the massive CrowdStrike disruption causing global computer problems.

    As reported by ABC11 , employees for at least some of the DMV offices were sent home for the day. DMV plans to reach out to customers to reschedule appointments as well.

    The North Carolina Department of Transportation issued the following message on X (formerly Twitter) this morning.

    OTHER AFFECTED ENTITIES IN CHARLOTTE:

    • 911 and 311 services in Charlotte are working
    • Charlotte Water is unable to accept water bill payments online. No service will be disconnected on Friday.
    • North Carolina DMV offices are unable to help customers
    • Novant Health website is up, but its phone lines appear to be down
    • Atrium Health website is up, but its phones appear to be connected
    • Truist, Bank of America and Wells Fargo websites are all functioning
      • ATM services for First Citizens, Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Truist are all working
    • The city of Charlotte confirmed all city websites were back up around 11:30 a.m. Friday. While the website was down, there was no access to CMPD, CFD or its online services
    • Charlotte Water is unable to to accept water payments online, but no water disconnections will happen today due to the outage
    • CATS website is down
    • American Airlines’ connections are re-established
    • Charlotte Douglas International Airport is experiencing multiple delays and cancellations due to the widespread issues. They advised people to not come to the airport unless they confirmed their flight is on time.
    • City of Gastonia and the city of Concord web services appear to be working
    • Duke Energy web services are functioning
    • Cabarrus County web services appear to be down
    • Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools’ technology services is working to resolve issues encountered
