Former President Donald Trump will campaign in Charlotte next week, days after he was officially nominated at the Republican National Convention and survived an assassination attempt.

Trump will hold a rally at the Bojangles Coliseum at 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Friday announcement by his campaign. Doors will open at 2 p.m.

Members of the public can request up to two tickets online .

Trump and his newly-minted running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, are scheduled to hold rallies across multiple battleground states in the next week, including Michigan, Ohio and Virginia.

Both Trump and President Joe Biden’s campaigns have focused on North Carolina, where Trump posted his slimmest margin of victory in 2020 among states he won. North Carolina is considered a key swing state in November.

The Republican nominee was last in the Charlotte area on Memorial Day, when he attended the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

He officially accepted the Republican nomination Thursday, where he reflected on the Saturday shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania that injured him and two others and killed a spectator.

The convention featured multiple speakers from the Tar Heel State , including Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, evangelist Franklin Graham and former Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools board candidate Annette Albright.

Trump has maintained a consistent lead in the polls in North Carolina.
