St. Matthew Catholic Church is proud to announce the 22nd Monsignor McSweeney World Hunger Drive (MMWHD), with a fundraising goal of $340,000. The drive is one of the largest outreach programs of a Catholic community in the country. This campaign aims to combat global hunger through a series of impactful events and initiatives, starting with a kick-off last weekend and culminating with a meal-packing event on Aug. 10. Interview includes Steve Favory – Co-Leader of the MMWHD and Executive Director of Hands for Haiti, Deacon Daren Bitter – Daren is a Deacon at St Matthew Catholic Church and is on the MMWHD leadership committee. Robert Manning – He is a member of the MMWHD leadership team and has frequently volunteered his time in Haiti working with the MOP and St Marc school. Bruce Anderson – He serves on the MMWHD leadership team, and he has helped complete several projects working with the MOP and St Marc school and Will Kennedy – Is entering his senior year at Wofford College majoring in Government. He participated in a Mission Trip to Haiti and has been a Table Captain at the Meal Packing Event for the last two years.
