CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Carolina Panthers begin training camp this week.

It’s been a busy offseason for the Panthers — for players, management and facilities — that began with hiring former Panthers linebacker Dan Morgan as the new general manager , and Dave Canales as head coach .

Personnel-wise, the Panthers offseason has been all about Bryce Young. They got the second-year quarterback some protection up front by signing offensive linemen Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis for a combined $153 million and drafted some young pass catchers, including first-round pick, Xavier Legette out of South Carolina.

While the Panthers traded away star linebacker Brian Burns and Frankie Luvu, they did add a veteran on that side of the ball by signing Rock Hill native Jadeveon Clowney .

The offense got another boost with another free agency addition in Diontae Johnson who comes the Panthers from the Steelers looking for a fresh start as a true No. 1 wide receiver.

The Panthers begin training camp on Wednesday in Uptown. The activities will take place at the team’s practice facility after spending all but one of the previous years at Wofford College. It’s a move that’s amid a major facelift that will include a new 5,000-seat fieldhouse .

A much bigger project was approved this summer as well that will shape the future of the fan experience. In June, Charlotte City Council members passed $650 million in public funding to go toward a renovation of Bank of America Stadium.
