CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) – Former President Trump will take the stage on Wednesday at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte. Supporters were out early Wednesday morning lining up.

Security is also a top priority after the attempted assassination 11 days ago.

Queen City News Reporter Daniel Pierce is at the rally Wednesday where supporters are wondering what the former president will say about his presumptive challenger, Vice President Kamala Harris, stating that they stand by the idea that Trump can beat anyone.

That idea is why supporters were gathering outside Bojangles Coliseum at 8 a.m. Wednesday to brave the sun, and the heat, to support Trump.

According to Medic, emergency crews have responded to seven heat-related calls, with one in progress. Two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Other calls included:

    • Unconscious/fainting – four calls with one in progress
    • Cardiac arrest – one transported to Novant Presbyterian with life-threatening conditions
    • Fall – canceled
    • Unknown – one transported with minor injuries

Many were discussing the recent assassination attempt, saying they expect to hear a message on unity. It’s something that’s been spoken about and we’re waiting to fully hear from the party.

Also, many are wondering if former President Trump will focus at all on attacks toward President Biden, Vice President Harris, or shift the focus to capitalize on the Independent base. It’s something that is considered to be open since the shift this past weekend.

Queen City News asked Trump voters about specific policies they want the former president to speak on. The biggest thing on their mind was the talking point of immigration and trying to bring down the cost of groceries.

The campaign rally for Trump is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Trump’s comments typically run about an hour and a half, but folks could hear him speak on President Biden’s comments to the nation Wednesday evening.
