    Suspect wanted for stealing car from Fort Mill, being involved in hit-and-run in Charlotte: Sheriff

    FORT MILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Authorities are seeking to identify the suspect driving a stolen car believed to be involved in a hit-and-run in Charlotte.

    According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, a black Genesis G80 was stolen from the Evolve at Tega Cay apartments in Fort Mill and the driver of the car is wanted. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. July and 10:55 a.m. the next day.

    The vehicle’s license plate number is South Carolina tag NIP-242.

    On July 6, deputies say the car was involved in a hit-and-run at 3215 Queen City Drive in west Charlotte, and has not been recovered. Prior to the collision, the suspect is believed to have come from the Rodeway Inn motel in the same area.
