CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — NoDa neighborhood leaders are looking to bring art back to their community.

The NoDa Business Association is hosting the inaugural NoDa Bizarre Aug. 3 featuring local artisans, musicians, and independent film. The event will showcase an artist bazaar with 50 vendors, live music performances, art demonstrations, an interactive mural scavenger hunt and much more.

The neighborhood once known as an artists’ haven in Charlotte, has undergone massive changes over the last decade, mostly with an influx of apartments and skyrocketing real estate values. In the early 2000s, NoDa hosted the All Arts Market to harness the creative spirit seen in thriving arts district.

Organizations are looking to usher that spirit back to North Davidson Street.

There will be live music from performers like Falllift, Dane Page, and Greg Steinfeld. And the day will conclude with an outdoor movie experience under the stars, as “The Sandlot” will be screened on the Johnston YMCA lawn.

The Bizarre will begin at 3 p.m. when the Vendor Village and Raffle opens.
