    One killed from shooting on Parkwood Ave: Medic

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead following a shooting in the Villa Heights area Friday night.

    According to Medic officials, the shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. July 26 in the 1300 block of Parkwood Avenue, near the intersection with Hawthorne Lane. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said they responding to the scene and discovered a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound.

    Medic pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

    CMPD Homicide Unit detectives are conducting an investigation. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, the Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC also assisted.
