Drier, less humid weekend preps Carolinas for rainy comeback

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening and happy Saturday! We finally got some drier and slightly less humid weather across the Carolinas today with more of the same on the way for Sunday. But don’t get used to the dry weather as we are expecting more showers and storms to arrive early next week and last until Wednesday. As soon as the wet weather clears out, temperatures are likely to push back into the low 90s across the Carolinas later in the week.

As for tonight and Sunday, quiet weather will continue this evening with partly cloudy skies and lows dipping to right around the 70-degree mark in Charlotte. Sunday we are expecting more sunshine across the region along with slightly warmer temperatures with highs that will be pushing towards the 90-degree mark.

Showers and storms will return on Monday as our next disturbance pushes into the Carolinas bringing hit-and-miss showers and storms for Monday and Tuesday with even and isolated storms possible on Wednesday as well. Temperatures will stay on the cooler side with highs in the low 80s Monday and Tuesday but expect more muggy conditions for the region.

The second half of the week will bring rising temperatures with a return to the 90s possibly starting Wednesday and continuing through the rest of the week. While we should see dry weather Thursday, scattered showers and storms could be possible Friday and heading into the weekend.

In the meantime, enjoy the quiet weather tonight! Have a great weekend!
