CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) – A suspect accused of striking and killing a horse with a terrain vehicle in the Outer Banks and then fleeing the scene has been arrested, the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday.

Deputies responded to calls regarding the incident around 12:30 a.m. on Friday near the Milepost 20 beach area.

An initial investigation stated that a side-by-side UTV struck a horse and then fled the scene. The vehicle was later identified and tracked down. As the vehicle was being towed, the owner, 57-year-old Virginia resident Porter Williamson, was seen attempting to flee the scene.

Punish them to the fullest extent of the law! How dare them! You make an innocent animal suffer like that and then try to run! At your old age I would have hoped you would have been a better person, you are both scum of the earth!
