People attempting to fly in and out of Charlotte Douglas had a tough time reaching their destinations during the storms. There were 79 flights delayed and 11 canceled Tuesday night. Only Atlanta’s airport and Chicago O’Hare had more. In addition to the wind and lightning, several roads were closed due to flooding in northwest Charlotte. A vehicle was stranded in rising waters on Idaho Drive, just off Brookshire Freeway.

More showers and storms are expected Wednesday as temperatures begin to rise through the end of the week.
