Xavier Legette Has The Most Fantasy Potential In Carolina

The Carolina Panthers drafted Xavier Legette with the 32nd overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft. Legette has all the physical tools of a stud perimeter receiver, but his late breakout scares people.

In his first 41 games, he produced 42 receptions for 423 yards (10.3 yards per reception) and 5 touchdowns. In his last year (2023), he exploded for 71/1255 (17.7 YPR) and 7 touchdowns.

Landing in Carolina with Diontae Johnson and Adam Thelian gives him the perfect balance of target competition without a dominant force in the room. If Legette performs, he could very easily take over that room. Bryce supported an elite fantasy option for part of a season last year in Adam Theilen, but it remains to be seen if Bryce could carry multiple fantasy options.

He has impressive size and speed, but where he will win is with his explosiveness when he breaks out of his route. Xavier is a menace with the ball in his hands, and Dave Canales, as the OC, expects Legette to be heavily utilized around the goal line.

Our consensus projections for Legette in the 2024 season would be 48 receptions, 683 yards, and 5 touchdowns.
