CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Whoever the Panthers sign isn’t likely to be a Hall of Famer — unless they’re Julius Peppers.

Panthers legend Julius Peppers was officially enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Peppers gave a speech, reflecting on his 17-year career and thanked everyone that helped him become who he is.

Owners of the Carolina Panthers David and Nicole Tepper issued a statement after the enshrinement saying Peppers is more than deserving of the honor.

He also gave a special shoutout to Charlotte and all the fans who supported him during his 10-year tenure with the Panthers.

Peppers was a defensive end and linebacker from 2002 to 2016, a 3-time 1st Team All-Pro and the Panthers’ all-time leader in sacks and forced fumbles. He retired with 100+ sacks and 10+ interceptions.

Peppers is now the fifth Hall of Famer with ties to the Panthers — Reggie White (2006), Bill Polian (2015), Kevin Greene (2016) and Sam Mills (2022).
