    Panthers release depth chart ahead of first preseason game against Patriots

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Carolina Panthers revealed their first depth chart Monday the week of the first preseason game.

    There are three receivers listed as starters, with returning players Adam Thielen and Jonathan Mingo joined by newcomer Diontae Johnson. The Panthers’ first 2024 draft pick, Xavier Legette, is on the second team.

    Behind quarterback Bryce Young are three backups: Andy Dalton, Jack Plummer and Jake Luton.

    The starting offensive lineman are Ikem Ekwonu and Taylor Moton at the tackle spots, Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt (guards) and Austin Corbett (center).

    There are still six running backs on the roster. Chuba Hubbard is the starter, followed by Miles Sanders and Raheem Blackshear.

    On defense, DJ Johnson is listed as a starting outside linebacker on the opposite end of newcomer Jadeveon Clowney.

    The starting secondary is Jayce Horn and Dane Jackson at corner, Xavier Woods and Jordan Fuller at safety and Toy Hill at nickelback.

    On special teams, Eddy Piñeiro is the starting kicker over Harrison Mevis.

    The team’s final roster is finalized Aug. 27. The complete depth chart can be found here.

    The Panthers’ first preseason game is Thursday at the New England Patriots.
