    Photos reveal scale of flooding at Mountain Island Lake, Catawba River near Charlotte

    As water continued to rise, mandatory evacuations were in effect south of Mountain Island Lake, which is near Charlotte, on Saturday.

    Photos show completely flooded homes and streets.

    Good they released the Lake Norman dam to save all the uber rich homes. So the poor people got flooded out, because of it - oh well. That they could have opened the Catawba dam and let the water run out to the ocean is obviously irrelevant. If Duke had done that, all that water that makes power for them would have gone by without generating power, and you know they aren’t going to let that happen .
