A new owner has stepped in to save a popular downtown Mooresville cocktail lounge from closing.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Waves Entertainment is officially the new owner of 158 on Main !,” the company announced on Instagram this week.

The lounge was set to close permanently on Sept. 28, according to Waves Entertainment, “but we’re excited to keep this classy cocktail lounge alive by reopening on Oct. 23 for business as usual!”

With the ownership transition, “unfortunately we will not be able to present Miracle on Main this Christmas season, but hope to bring it back in 2025,” according to the Instagram post.

“Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to 158 on Main for classy cocktails and tunes very soon!”

Announcing its closing on Instagram last month, 158 on Main management didn‘t say why it was closing and didn’t reply to a request for comment from CharlotteFive.

The food, drinks and entertainment venue debuted in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The years have been unforgettable, and we are beyond grateful for your love and support,” management said in a letter in September to its “community, friends, family, team members and musicians.”

    Breakfast spot opens soon nearby

A couple of storefronts away, a breakfast restaurant named Dark Bulls announced that it will open soon, CharlotteFive previously reported. The head chef worked in Michelin-starred restaurants and others for 10 years in Europe and Asia, the owners said on Instagram.

Replying to the curious on Instagram last month, the owners — a couple with a private Instagram account — promised “an extraordinary menu and unique presentation for customers. We will definitely share it soon.”

The restaurant has not yet provided an update on when it will open .
