    Here are the nominees for The Charlotte Observer’s high school football player of the week for Week 7 of the season.

    The poll closes at noon Friday.

    This week’s nominees

    Noah Best, Corvian Community: In a 42-0 win over Bishop McGuinness, Best rushed six times for 102 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a 27-yard pass and had five tackles on defense.

    Jon Bissonnette, JM Robinson: In an 83-0 win over East Rowan, Bissonnette completed 14 of 15 passes for 315 yards and six touchdowns. He ran two times for 40 yards.

    Patrick Blee, South Point: In a 27-26 win over Crest, Blee completed 5 of 7 passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns. He ran 16 times for 95 yards and another score.

    Javarion Brown, Hunter Huss: In a win over Stuart Cramer, Brown rushed 14 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 9.1 yards per carry.

    Chance Cato, Olympic: In a 56-0 win over Ballantyne Ridge, Cato completed 11 of 13 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns.

    Jamari Farmer, Mooresville: In an 18-6 win over Providence, the Indiana recruit had 13 tackles, including four tackles for a loss and a pass deflection.

    Aamir Gilcreast, Mountain Island Charter: In a 40-8 win over Winston-Salem Prep, Gilcreast ran 21 times for 178 yards and a touchdown.

    Carter Gillis, South Mecklenburg: In a close loss to Palisades Friday, Gillis completed 16 of 33 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

    Alex Gutierrez, Ardrey Kell: In a 47-0 win over Berry, Gutierrez, a senior defensive back, had two interceptions, a defense touchdown plus seven tackles and two pass breakups.

    Isaiah Houston, Butler: In a 46-0 win over East Mecklenburg, Houston had 11 tackles and two sacks and one caused fumble.

    Jason Hubbard, Metrolina Christian: In a 42-20 win over Mount Zion Christian, Hubbard had six tackles and 3.5 sacks, a quarterback hurry and four total tackles for a loss.

    Tyler Johnson, South Iredell: In a 32-27 win over Hickory Ridge, Johnson led his school to its third win in a row. Johnson was 11 of 15 for 170 yards and two touchdowns. He ran 12 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.

    Maddox Langley, AL Brown: The junior receiver caught four passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-14 win over Cox Mill.

    Grant Lawless, East Lincoln: In a 41-13 win over West Iredell, Lawless completed 13 of 17 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns. He ran four times for 50 yards and another score.

    Lucas Lopez, Cannon School: In a 40-8 win over the North Wake Saints, Lopez completed 14 of 19 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns

    Jalaythan Mayfield, Lincolnton: In a 22-14 win over Bandys, Mayfield, a sophomore linebacker, had 13 tackles, two sacks and returned a fumble 40 yards for a score.

    Jamouri Nichols, West Charlotte: Sophomore QB led the Lions to 47-0 over Hopewell last week, completing 13 of 17 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns. He ran four times for 79 yards and two more scores.

    Addison Rowland, Palisades: In an 18-14 win over South Mecklenburg, Rowland completed 10 of 13 passes for 69 yards and running nine times for 44 yards and a touchdown. He led his team to 237 total yards, including 165 in the second half.

    Jordan Young, Monroe: In a 34-9 win over Forest Hills, Young, a 5-star recruit, had three catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he had four tackles and two interceptions.
