After months of anticipation, it’s time for Charlotte’s newest cocktail lounge to open its doors in South End.

Folia , a Miami-inspired concept cultivated with “lush vibes, intimate corners and cocktails that speak your language” will open Friday, Oct. 11.

Led by the team behind The Goodyear House , Haymaker and Old Town Kitchen and Cocktails , the new bar near Wooden Robot Brewery and VINYL has been a project secretly in the works for quite some time.

After originally planning for a summer debut, you’ll be able to get a taste of Miami this weekend in what the Built on Hospitality group believes is the hottest neighborhood in the city.

“We are going for sort of a Miami garden bar,” award-winning mixologist and beverage director Bob Peters told CharlotteFive. “We’re really excited to be here, because we think this might be the hub of South End for generations to come.”

    ‘Where every night blooms’

“We’ve been eyeing South End for a while and knew that if something came up that felt right for us, we would jump on it,” Chris Coleman of Built on Hospitality previously told CharlotteFive.

“We also saw a real need. You know, South End is a really cool area and there’s a lot of bars already there … and we’re trying to build something that’s a little more sophisticated, a little more elevated for folks who have maybe aged out of the ‘party scene,’ the ‘club scene’ but still like to go out and have a good time.”

Designed to be a “chic and sophisticated escape” for date nights, get-togethers or even private parties, Folia will offer seasonal cocktails, beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks by Peters and small bites by chef Tyler Long.

“We did some sort of tropical … little bit more summery drinks here at the tail end of summer, and then we will change things every season, so we’ll have seasonal menus for all of our custom cocktails,” Peters told CharlotteFive. “We’re really excited to be here, because we think this might be the hub of South End for generations to come.”
