On the Soil and Water Conservation Piedmont District Board — which covers Amelia, Nottoway and Prince Edward counties — there are 8 members. Two directors are elected every four years from each county in the district, and two directors are appointed. The Piedmont District Board also appoints non-voting associate directors.
