ALBEMARLE COUNTY — Authorities said a man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Albemarle County.

At approximately 6:40 p.m., the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a crash involving an SUV and sedan in the area of Seminole Trail and Hill Top View Lane, a press release said.

A passenger in the sedan, 23-year-old Shahd Boz Al Asaal, of Charlottesville, was taken to UVA Health. He later died from injuries received in the crash. The driver and another passenger in the sedan suffered minor injuries, the release said.

Police said none of the occupants in the sedan were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene, the release said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
