CPD Seeks Assistance Locating Suspects and Vehicle in Holly’s Diner Shooting
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On Tuesday, July 23, at approximately 11:22 p.m., Charlottesville police officers responded to Holly’s Diner at 1221 E Market St for a shooting that had just occurred. One person was struck by gunfire and is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries. CPD detectives have continued their investigation into this incident and are seeking to identify the persons of interest in this release.

Their idea for Angel Detection Solutions, a business venture that will produce a disposable cup that detects when a date-rape drug is added to a drink, was selected as the audience favorite from among 11 finalists. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia Theatre Festival is wrapping up its 50th Anniversary season with the two-time-Tony Award-winning show, The 39 Steps. The show features only four actors playing more than 150 characters in a whirlwind performance. Detector Nicholas Minas is making his Virginia theater festival debut for the show telling the story adapted from the classic film by Alfred Hitchcock, The 39 Steps.
City trash decal year already underway; buy ASAP to avoid disrupted pickup
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Charlottesville’s new trash decal year began on July 1. Residents who use an annual trash decal for weekly trash service and have not purchased a new 2024-2025 trash decal are encouraged to purchase a new one as soon as possible to avoid any disruption in trash pickup service. Residents who have purchased a new decal since June 1st and have not received it in the mail should reach out to the City Treasurer’s Office to obtain a replacement.
Augusta County gunshot victim flown to UVA; police on the hunt for suspect
