CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A Clinton Township woman faces the possibility of life in prison for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged Jennifer Hayes, 29, with Assault with Intent to Murder (a life felony) and Aggravated Domestic Violence (a one-year misdemeanor). She’s accused of stabbing her boyfriend multiple times at his home in Clinton Township on Wednesday.

The victim is expected to survive and recover, the prosecutors said.

She was arraigned Friday (7/5) in 41B Clinton Township District Court and given a $250,000 bond. If posted, she’ll have to wear a steel GPS tether.

“Domestic Violence needs to stop.  Violence has no place in our community," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in the statement.

If convicted on Assault with Intent to Murder, she faces up to life in prison.

She’s due back in court for a Probable Cause Hearing on July 15th.
