    Cape Cod Baseball League roundup: Chatham Anglers extends win streak to four games

    The Chatham Anglers (14-11) remained the hottest team in the Cape League with a 14-8 win over the Falmouth Commodores for their fourth straight win at Guv Fuller Field on Tuesday.

    The game was tied 8-8 after the sixth inning. The Anglers scored two runs in the eighth inning and four more in the ninth that sealed the deal.

    Chatham collected 17 team hits, led by Augusta's Kyle Lodise (three runs, two RBIs, two walks, one double) and Ole Miss' Campbell Smithwick (three runs, one RBI) with three hits each. LSU's Ashton Larson (three RBIs), Auburn's Ike Irish (two RBIs, one run), Tennessee's Robin Villenueve (two runs) and Vanderbilt's Jayden Davis (two runs) each had two hits, while Austin Peay's John Bay (two RBIs, one run) hit his fourth homer of the season. Jacob Heath (West Florida) picked up the win on the mound as he pitched 3 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings, walked none and struck out three.

    Louisville's Zion Rose (two hits, one RBI, one run), Oklahoma's Jaxon Willits (three RBIs, one run) and Oregon State's Trent Caraway (two hits, two RBIs two runs) each hit a home run for Falmouth. Jayson Jones (Arkansas) collected four hits at the plate, while Oklahoma state's Donovan LaSalle (one double, one RBI, one run) chipped in two more hits. MJ Seo lost his first game on the mound after he went 1/3 inning, gave up one hit, allowed two runs, walked one and struck out one.

    In other Cape League action:

    Hyannis Harbor Hawks 8, Brewster Whitecaps 6

    The Harbor Hawks (15-9) won their second straight game as they snapped the Whitecaps (11-14) two-game win streak.

    Eric Snow (South Florida) led the way at the plate with three hits (one scored run), while Tennessee's Dalton Bargo (two hits, two RBIs, one run) and Liberty's Kane Kepley (three RBIs, one run, one walk) each hit a home run for Hyannis. Alex Lodise (Florid State) collected two hits, and Dallas Baptist's Michael Dattalo (one run) added one double.

    Sean Fitzpatrick (Arizona State) picked up his first win on the mound as he pitched 2 1/3 innings, scattered three hits, gave up one run, walked one and struck out four. Josh Och (Southern Mississippi) had the save as he went one scoreless and hitless inning.

    Florida State's Drew Faurot (three RBIs, two runs) had two homers, while Florida's Brody Donay (two hits, two runs, one RBI, one walk) and Vanderbilt's J.D. Rogers (two runs, one RBI) also went yard for Brewster. Kaeden Kent (Texas A&M) chipped in one double. DJ Primeaux (Louisiana State) dropped to 2-3 after he went 1 1/3 innings, gave up one hit, allowed three runs and three walks, and struck out one.

    Wareham Gatemen 4, Orleans Firebirds 2

    The Gatemen (17-8) scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning as they won their second straight and handed the Firebirds (7-18) their second straight loss. Frenso State's Triston Gray (two hits, two RBIs, one double, one run) hit a home run, while Anotonio Jimenez (Central Florida) contributed one double for Wareham. Starter Tate McGuire (Arkansas) remains unbeaten (2-0) on the mound after he pitched five innings, allowed five hits, gave up one run, walked one and struck out four. Patrick Galle (Mississippi) had the save after he went one scoreless and hitless inning and struck out one.

    Ben Zeigler-Namoa (Hawaii) and Stetson's Lorenzo Meola (one double, one run) each had two hits, while Daniel Bucciero (Fordham) added one double for Orleans. Starter Cody Bowker (Georgetown) fell to 0-2 after he pitched 5 1/3 innings, scattered three hits, gave up two runs, walked none and struck out four.
