CHATHAM, NJ -- Chatham Township Committee member Mark Lois released the results of the survey put to residents on the "Colony Pool Wall Construction and Other Structural Changes" on Tuesday afternoon, revealing that 66.1% of respondents preferred the design that is closest to the existing pool wall.
However, Lois noted that the Chatham Township Committee is not bound to follow the survey results and will vote Tuesday night in a virtual meeting to determine the final decision.
The Colony Pool Advisory committee appreciates all the public input provided for the Colony Pool Wall Construction & Other Structural Changes - Design Feedback form. The form is now closed and no longer accepting responses.
The Township Committee of Chatham Township has been supplied the complete responses. Summary charts capture a synopsis of the feedback and show 66.1% of respondents preferred a design matching the existing pool walls, 20.8% preferred the new straight wall design, 10.4% needed more information and 2.6% didn't mind either design. 0.1% is unaccounted for due to rounding.
The 192 responses unfortunately include 3 duplicate entries which have a negligible effect, but are noted for accuracy and transparency.
There is no requirement for the Township Committee to adhere to the results of the feedback form. A vote is set at a virtual, online Township Committee Special Meeting tonight - Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:30PM. The vote will approve the project for bid and is planned to be followed by construction this fall. Anyone who would like to participate in the public comment portion of the meeting, the first public comment period is near the beginning of the meeting, which will be on Zoom at 7:30pm tonight at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83345103683
