Court Sentences Parents of Teen BMW Driver Who Killed 14-Year-Old Passenger
On May 17, a 16-year-old driving 101 mph in a 2005 BMW 3 Series on North Conduit Avenue in Queens lost control and crashed into a parked UPS truck. The teenage driver still had a junior license, which means he was supposed to be driving with a 21-year-old adult, or older, in the passenger seat. However, instead of an adult, 14-year-old Fortune Williams was in the car with him. Tragically, Williams didn’t survive the crash. According to NBC4 New York, the teenage driver—whose name has been withheld due to his age—is being charged with several crimes, including manslaughter.

new york elected officials who are really having a brat summer
RIP to the brat meme, which became infinitely less cool (as all jokes are) when it got acknowledged by someone as official as the mayor of New York City (and tbh – publications like yours truly). For the folks not terminally online – “Brat” is the latest studio album from pop singer Charli XCX, and having a “brat summer” is a term that describes being “that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes, who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown” – at least according to the artist herself. According to the internet it could mean basically anything, except apparently being Eric Adams – after his team put together a video trying to tie brat summer with his “Summer of Possibility” initiative, hundreds of X users chimed in to inform him he is SO NOT brat. Despite New York City Council Member and culture connoisseur Chi Ossé declaring the joke officially dead, here’s a list of elected officials we consider to actually be having a brat summer.
Grade the trade: Wild 3-team deal sends KAT to Clippers, speeds up Nets rebuild
We are at a lull point in the NBA offseason. Perhaps nothing is more illustrative of this than some of the over-the-top trade proposals we're seeing online. With free agency dwindling and the Summer Leagues officially over, there isn't much to discuss in the Association. We have Team USA and Olympic basketball group stage play beginning on July 27. But that doesn't affect the league we've come to know and love.

Postcard Bakery Features Bold Color and Pattern Inspired by Retro Japanese Design
Postcard Bakery in New York City’s West Village boasts a design as delightful as the treats on offer, with a retro style inspired by Asian artwork. Sarah Carpenter, of her eponymous firm, was tapped to envision the newest eatery from the Nami Nori team. The blend of modern and classic is a welcome departure from the minimalist aesthetic at the flagship restaurant next door. “It has a really bold and nostalgic Japanese feel, which is not a typology that you see often, especially in New York,” Carpenter says. “It is complementary to the brand, but also unexpected.”
