Area ag-related businesses eligible for SBA drought disaster loans
WASHINGTON, DC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are available in Virginia for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations with economic losses due to drought that began on July 16. The specific primary counties, along with the adjacent localities, makes our entire Charlottesville area eligible. These loans are not available to the actual farmer or rancher, but are for aquacultural producers and nursery operators.
Giant water slide returns to Clarksville this weekend
The coolest event in Southern Virginia will be taking over downtown Clarksville on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children over 5. Kids age 4 and 5 will be able to ride for free. No children under the age of 4 will be allowed to participate.
