Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, beginning on August 16 and continuing through September 16, 2024, the public is encouraged to submit feedback, share ideas, and express concerns regarding the state’s fishing regulations.

TWRA Fisheries personnel employed various techniques to manage fish populations and gather essential data on fish population structure, recruitment, growth, density, and mortality.

Alongside these efforts, they worked to improve habitats, propagated and stocked multiple fish species, and ensured that anglers had access to optimal fishing opportunities.

Additionally, TWRA conducted angler surveys to better understand fishing efforts, preferences, catch rates, demographics, and the economic impact of Tennessee’s fisheries.

Public input has been regarded as an important part of TWRA’s regulation process.

Feedback from anglers is considered alongside independent fishery assessments, allowing the agency to balance effective resource management with the diverse needs of Tennessee’s anglers.

Any proposed changes to fishing regulations will be previewed during a Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting in early 2025.
