Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, the Chattanooga Police Department staff and leadership participated in the Running Down Recidivism 5K, an event that focused on raising awareness about the critical support and resources needed for individuals during and after incarceration.

The event underscored the importance of providing the necessary tools to ensure that those released from incarceration embraced rehabilitation, steering them away from a return to crime.

The department expressed appreciation to The BRAVE Effect for organizing the event and supporting such an important cause.

I have the cure for recidivism... transitional housing for a year, a livable wage, access to healthcare including mental health services and assistance w credit repair.... anything else is just a bandaid on a problem that's about to explode... our criminal justice system is disgusting and embarrassing
