    The Chattanooga Police Department responded to active shooter situation at 2034 Hamilton Place Blvd

    Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, multiple law enforcement agencies responded after CPD initially received a shooting call at an office building in the 2000 block of Hamilton Place Blvd.

    Officers swiftly arrived and secured control of the scene.

    A Public Information Officer was also present in the Belk parking lot to provide updates to the media.

    The suspect, who was not identified, reportedly shot himself and is now deceased.

    No other people were shot or injured.

    Police officials said the shooter was reportedly attempting to execute a plan which failed.

    The immediate threat at the 2000 block of Hamilton Place Blvd has been neutralized, and there is no longer a danger to the public.

    Nearby businesses, which had been on lockdown, have resumed normal operations.

    Individuals in the area were also allowed to leave either in their vehicles or via CARTA transports, as the situation is brought under control.

    CPD will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses and more details become available.
