CPD recently offered residents a unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of law enforcement through a ride-along program with Neighborhood Policing officer

Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, this initiative aimed to provide valuable insights into the efforts required to keep the community safe.

Due to an overwhelming response, the administrative assistants worked diligently to process the high volume of applications.

As a result, the response time was extended, and applicants were thanked for their patience as the team managed the influx.

Participants in the ride-along program had to be prepared to ride for the entire shift, with no guarantee of being dropped off at any point other than the start and end of the officer’s shift.

This immersive experience allowed residents to gain a firsthand understanding of the daily challenges and responsibilities faced by law enforcement officers.

The program’s success highlighted the community’s interest in understanding and supporting the efforts of the Chattanooga Police Department in maintaining public safety.
