KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Students are upset about changes coming to school libraries this fall. Back in 2022, Governor Bill Lee signed "The Age Appropriate Materials Act" into law. But this year, lawmakers added even more specific restrictions. The changes to that law require schools to pull books with content deemed "sexual" or "excessively violent."

Methadone Clinic Hearing Delayed Till August
The state hearing on a proposed methadone clinic for Putnam County has been delayed until August. Cedar Recovery wants to open a facility along Burgess Falls Road, just outside the Cookeville City Limits. The proposal must be approved by the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission. The July hearing on the proposal has been delayed, according to a state official, because of a logistical issue.
