Dalton Man Charged with Murder After Confessing to Killing Woman with Rock in Whitfield County
A tragic incident occurred in Whitfield County where a woman was found beaten to death with a rock. The body of Luz Divina Ramirez, aged 50, was discovered under a bridge near railroad tracks at the intersection of Willowdale Road and Crow Valley Road. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office stated that on August 21 they performed a welfare check where they found Ramirez deceased. Upon examining the scene, they uncovered multiple blows to her head and face were inflicted using a large rock.

Putnam’s top residential transactions in July, market watch
Nationally, existing home sales have risen 1.3% since May, according to a recent report by bankrate.com. That ended four straight months of declines, according to the National Association of Realtors. The nationwide median price was $422,600, up 4.2% from last year. That is the highest July average on record and inventory also increased. There is now a four-month supply. According to the report, that is “a sign that buyers may be gaining more leverage in the market.”
Family Says Goodbye To Salt and Pepper Lady
Family members and friends said goodbye Wednesday to Sparta’s Ms. Ernestine McPeak Boyd, a 60-year collector of salt and pepper shakers. The 97-year old accumulated an estimated 14,000 shaker sets. Boyd’s daughter Gail Blankenship said she never really knew where her mother’s interest originated. But a speaker at her mother’s funeral got her thinking.
