Homelessness ‘Boom’ in the valley; Roanoke Officials speak on the numbers
ROANOKE, Va, (WFXR) – During the annual Point-In-Time report- at least 402 individuals were experiencing homelessness in the Roanoke Valley, that’s 20.6% from 2023. “It’s concerning,” said Roanoke Mayor Sherman P. Lea, Sr. “Our focus is trying to find some places for our homeless population. You want to see everyone have a place, have a shelter, and not sleep outside.”
