The Northwest Salmon Smokehouse, located at 486 N. Market Blvd. in downtown Chehalis, will celebrate six months in business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony provided by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.

The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, at the smokehouse.

After taking over the space previously owned by Bartel’s Clothing, Frank and Danielle Pfannes were able to make one of their dreams come true by opening the Northwest Salmon Smokehouse and Artisan Market in February of this year.

In addition to their specialty smoked fish, cheeses and spreads, the menu also includes summer salads, pulled pork, jerky and a variety of sausages — kielbasa, bratwurst and foot-long hot dogs.

“We now offer a full menu in the café as well as our specialty of in-house smoked salmon,” Frank stated in a news release from the chamber. “We also have a variety of panini presses.”

Frank grew up along the Columbia River and comes from a family of avid fishermen. He has been making and selling smoked fish since 2017.

Other products sold at Northwest Salmon Smokehouse are part of their artisan market comprised of local makers and artisans, many of whom are also on hand Saturdays during the fall and winter months.

The chamber encourages the public to help these businesses thrive by attending the ribbon-cuttings.
