Over the last 2 months, the Columbia River Drug Task Force began researching a house in the 1100 block of Rosewood Ave in Wenatchee. Detectives had received reports of suspicious activity that indicated it was likely drugs were being sold from the residence. Neighbors were complaining of constant traffic and unusual activity. The quality of life for the citizens of this neighborhood was directly impacted.
Chelan County Pioneer Fire now 14% contained
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — According to the Southeast Region-Department of Natural Resources, the Pioneer Fire near Lake Chelan is now 14% contained. Officials say over the past three days, helicopters have dropped 420,000 gallons of water on the fire. Plus, additional boats are arriving daily to aid in the ongoing transportation of personnel, food, and supplies.

The funding comes at a critical time for the multi-agency task force, as similar teams across Washington state have faced significant budget reductions. Chelan County homeless housing program opens new office at Columbia Station
WENATCHEE — The Coordinated Entry program has a new home at Link Transit's Columbia Station in Wenatchee after Chelan County began overseeing the program July 1. Coordinated Entry — the first step taken for homeless people getting connected to resources — has been contracted with three different agencies, the latest being the Wenatchee Rescue Mission since last July. All counties are required to provide this program, as part of the requirements attached to the homeless housing grants the county receives.
