Woman Charged in Connection with Shooting of Infant in Philadelphia's Holmesburg Area
A woman has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting of a 7-month-old boy in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood. The shooting, which occurred around 5:51 p.m. last Thursday on the 4000 block of Meridian Street, resulted in a swift response from law enforcement. According to 6abc, the suspect was taken into custody the following night and is currently awaiting formal charges.

Ex-Philly officer Edsual Mendoza gets at least 8 years in killing of 12-year-old Thomas ‘T.J.’ Sidiero
A fired Philadelphia police officer who pleaded guilty to murder in the shooting of a fleeing 12-year-old boy was sentenced Monday to at least eight years in prison. Edsaul Mendoza, a five-year veteran of the force who was fired a week after the shooting in 2022, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in April in the shooting of Thomas “T.J.” Siderio.

Old City to release debut LP, share “Prey” video
Philadelphia-based punk hip-hop group Old City have announced that they will be releasing their debut album. It is self-titled and will be out on September 13 via Get Better Records. The album features contributions from Milo Aukerman of Descendents, The Ramonas, Messed Up, Conflict, Baz The Frenchman, and many more. The group has also released a video for their song “Prey” which features samples from Leftover Crack and Fugazi along with additional guitars by Gav King of Conflict and additional vocals by Milo Ackerman.
