Cherokee County Senior Services and Stand Up For Seniors’ annual hot dog luncheon has been postponed to Oct. 3 due to expected inclement weather from Hurricane Helene.

The luncheon was scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the Cherokee County Senior Center, 1001 Univeter Road in Canton.

A statement on the Cherokee County Facebook page reads: “The hotdog fundraiser originally planned for this week is postponed until Thursday, Oct. 3. More details to follow next week. If you RSVP’d, you should have already received communication.”

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Stand Up For Seniors’ Last Stop Program, an emergency financial assistance program that includes rental assistance, minor medical costs, utilities and temporary housing.
