    Woodstock City Offices Will Be Closed Friday Due to Hurricane Helene

    City of Woodstock offices will be closed Friday, Sept. 27 due to severe weather expected in the area due to Hurricane Helene, the city announced.

    City departments will be available by phone and email. For contact information, visit woodstockga.gov.

    Cherokee County and other parts of Georgia are under a tropical storm warning . Thursday and Friday, heavy rainfall, flooding and tropical storm force winds are expected, as well as the potential for short-lived tornadoes as Hurricane Helene moves across the area.

    Waste Management garbage and recycling service for Friday in Woodstock will be delayed until Saturday.

    Customers are strongly advised to wait to place cans on the curb until after winds have subsided.

    Woodstock Parks and Recreation is closing Olde Rope Mill Park, Woofstock Dog Park, and all trails at 5 p.m. Thursday until further notice. Significant flooding is anticipated.

    If your home or business in Woodstock sustains damage in the storms, the city advises to contact your insurance company or Woodstock's Building Department before entering contracts or paying deposits for repairs.
