SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. (WIFR) - Three area fire departments serve the South Beloit community during a special cookout competition. Firefighters from Shirland, Rockton and Roscoe gathered at Viking Lanes to compete in the 2024 Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Rib Fest. During the event, hungry visitors sampled ribs from each department and cast their votes to determine the winner of the People’s Choice Award.

Free emergency supplies available at Rockford church
