Doug was blind in his final scenes

Bill Hayes portrayed Doug Williams on Days of Our Lives since 1970 and was beloved by fans. CNN reported that the 98-year-old entertainer passed away on January 12 of this year and was still acting.

US TV News reveals that his wife and co-star, Susan Seaforth Hayes, shared that the love of her life was a professional until the end. He was completely blind when he filmed his last scene, but all Virginia viewers noticed was his black eyes.

Days of Our Lives will air tribute episodes to the long-time cast member in November. Among those returning to Salem for Doug's will be Jennifer Devereax (Melissa Reeves) and Sean Douglas Brady (Brandon Beamer). There has been no word about Kristen Alfonso, who portrays Doug's daughter, Hope Williams Brady.
